28 days until
Your customers are celebrating New Years….
Your customers are thinking about their resolutions….
Your customers start thinking about filing their taxes….
Your customers start getting bogged down in the minutia of any 1st of the year policy changes….
Your customer starts thinking about paying off all their holiday debts….
Your customer starts thinking about the end of the school year, their summer vacations, Valentines day, Birthdays or any number of the infinite things that occupy our time.
That’s all to say that from here to the end of the year you’re going to hear a bunch of
“Let’s touch base after the New Year”
which normally means
“It’s easier for me to continue to ignore the problems I’m trying to solve then to actually deal with them right now”
And guess what happens when you call back at the start of the year???
See above for your answer.
So, Here’s my challenge to you as a sales person.
Get your customer to imagine going into the New Year WITHOUT the problem that you have the solution to….
For example:
If we can fix this problem, how does that help you next year?
How long has this been on the to do list? Are you excited to get it done so you an enjoy the holidays?
Sounds like you have a lot of exciting things coming up, after this gets handled, what’s next on you plate?
And
Create Urgency….
“A lot of our manufacturers, finance companies, vendors, terms, contracts, ect get adjusted at the start of the year. Just like my car insurance rates, sometimes cost go down…. 99% of the time they go up. I don’t know what’s going to happen”
“We always close out the year with our best promotions. You called at the right time.”
Every conversation is an opportunity to inspire action. Remember, you're not just selling a product—you're offering a solution that can change your customer’s world. The key to success is making it easy for them to say 'yes.' Ask the right questions, present clear options, and guide them confidently toward a decision. Your energy and belief in what you offer will ignite their confidence, and together, you’ll make great things happen. Take action today, and help your customers take theirs!
